Gum
I never used to believe it when people said I was a nerd until last night at Taekwon-Do. One of the younger students asked me to read her recently unwrapped Bazooka Bubble Gum comic strip.  Â
It went like this:Â Â Â
Joe: Doc, I can’t sleep. Doc: Did you try counting, Joe?Â
Joe: I counted up to 487,465. Doc: Then you fell asleep?Â
Joe: No, it was time to GET UP!  Â
A few of my contemporaries laughed. I didn’t. I said it was stupid. Most everyone agreed, so I said, “Yeah, like they really expect us to believe he can count eleven numbers per second.â€
The silence that followed assured me that they thought it was dim-witted in a very different way.

Intelligence can manifest itself in many ways.
Feeling superior to others, no matter how their intelligence shows itself (or fails to show itself), is morally equivalent to feeling superior to others because one has straighter hair than someone else.
With that said, I should also point out that it was a pretty stupid joke too
